Initially, I was going to call this my Holiday Favorites and then my December Favorites and then I thought about it more and I thought: it’s not very practical if you wanted to get some for yourselves! And winter is not even close to over… So! In no particular order here are some of my winter favs!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Starlight
This is the perfect highlighter for winter. I feel like we should save the golden, peachy hues for spring and summer. Starlight is more of a pearl color and it’s absolutely beautiful on! Perfection.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Brush #12
This is my favorite brush of the moment. I have been using it for my brows non-stop. The spooly is so good at combing the brow hairs and keeping them in line. And the angled brush is the perfect stiff brush for making tiny little hair-like marks with brow powder. I even use it when I use my Brow Whiz to smooth it out.
This primer has coconut water in it, which makes it super hydrating. It’s amazing for keeping your skin tone even and bright. It also smells really good and it feels even better. This is the perfect primer for winter, as my skin tends to dry out and get patchy (so not attractive) and it really helps keep my skin nice and fresh all day! I apply this after my lotion before I put on foundation. I will even use it if I’m not applying foundation or makeup because it feels so nice.
ColourPop Lumiere Lippie Pencil
Lumiere is one of the colors that Kathleen Lights collaborated on with ColourPop. If you haven’t heard of ColourPop, stop what you’re doing and open their website right now! ColourPop.com They create amazing lip, eye and cheek products at incredible prices. This Lippie pencil is only $5! Lumiere is such a pretty color, its the perfect nude-ish mauve shade and I have been wearing it daily with the matching Lippie Stick. I couldn’t find the Lippie Stick to photograph because I think it’s in my purse somewhere… I really wear it a lot.
Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream
This stuff… OHMYGOSH. I can’t even begin to describe my love for it. It is ultra hydrating and my skin feels so good and so soft. I use this as my night cream and also when I travel. I have a few beauty travel essentials and this has been one of them for the last two years. The rose in this is so good for your skin. I don’t tend to like rose smell in general, but this does not smell like “old lady rose” at all, it’s more like a fresh, garden rose smell. Also, mine is the older bottle, I think I got this while I was traveling because my skin was so dry from the plane ride.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick
I saw NikkieTutorials using this and I was like… mmmm, I don’t know… I haven’t had much luck with other Make Up For Ever foundations but then she said it wasn’t drying so I figured I would give it a shot. Let me just say, I love it! The coverage is divine and it really doesn’t dry my skin out at all! It’s creamy and soft and very, very easy to blend. Worth the money for sure!
This may seem silly but I hate blending colors on the back of my hand, first because it takes so much hand washing or a makeup wipe to get the colors off my hand and also because: germs. Even with freshly washed hands, skin still has oils and bacteria on it. I use this whenever I mix any colors for eye shadow or foundation or when I get too much eyeliner on my brush. It’s much cleaner than the back of my hand and also I don’t lose any product because it’s not a porous surface. I got mine from Etsy but I think they are sold on Beautylish.com now as well! She makes them all here in the US, right in California. #supportsmallbusiness
Ok, so this is beauty related but not a typical favorite. I had to include it because it was Christmas present from my hubby. He’s so good to me! He put it together for me and everything! It’s from Ikea. I love my new dedicated makeup space and my hubby is so happy to have all my makeup out of our bathroom. HA. The mirror is from Hobby Lobby, and I got it half off. I love that place (I know I shouldn’t but the prices are so good!), it’s a total weakness. I just need to figure out the lighting situation when it’s not bright daytime.
